Welcome to  Homeworld - Resource. For those of you that are not familar with Homeworld it is a very popular Real Time Strategy (RTS) environment in which you must complete mission objectives to defeat your oppenent either Computer Controlled AI (CCAI) or in a one on one setting with upto six other Real Time Strategist's online.  Although Homeworld is a relic by nature the environment still brings the faithfull and newcomer back time and time again.

What sets Homeworld apart from most if not all environments is that the environment itself can be molded to the imagination of the Modder. That's right you can imagine a world apart from the rest and with the Tools and Tutorials...bring your world to life.

This is a traditional Homeworld Modding Resource website.

What was that? You don't want to mod a Homeworld based environment? Not a problem. By reading through the tutorials on the website you will be able to mod an environment of your choice based upon it being a space based environment. Do you envision your fleets being composed of dragon flies and beetles? Or maybe you want to mod your vision around ancient warships of Greek and Egypt battling for control in space.

Homeworld - Resource is your place for learning how to use the tools that you need to bring your imagination alive in Homeworld.

The best part about modding for Homeworld is that all of the tools are free either having come from Relic during the initial launch of Homeworld or created by dedicated Homeworld fans around the planet. You will never be asked to pay for a Tool or Tutorial before being able to use it.

Not even the 3D Modeling and Graphic Editors will cost you anything as the world has changed since Homeworld was first launched when Maya and Photoshop were used exclusively in the making of Homeworld. Since then many Open Source 3D Modeling and Graphic Editing programs have come into being and are now able to produce the same quality of 3D models and graphics that the Big Boys do.

I would start by purchasing any of the Homeworld Environments from the Environment Download Center.

​

If you already have the Homeworld Environments downloaded or stored away in some dark and dusty abandon, get them back out and lets bring Homeworld : The Return, to life.
